ANCIENT WISDOM |

WELCOME |
|
The community who had long ago started to come together spontaneously around a core to think, talk, discuss and produce continuously turned into a civil society organization under the name of Anatolian Enlightenment Foundation. The objective of the community is to establish a "Permanent Knowledge Community" with the aim of enlightenment, with no discrimination of language, religion, race, gender and nationality. We aim to explore enlightenment in accordance with "The Ideal of Universal Human Society", in the context of different cultures and human civilization and within the historical process; to help thoughts and concepts that come into being and go through change in the structure of Anatolian culture be understood as a whole and establish their relationship with the concepts in the other cultures, and help thought management and thought instruments be defined and functional.
We believe these activities would be possible only by contributing to the individual and the society in reproducing and realizing themselves.
Taking all into consideration, the main goal of our website is to contribute to the culture of enlightenment both in our country and in the world. |

ASHURA | a TV programme by Metin Bobaroğlu and Ayşe Acar |
|
The following are excerpts from Ashura, a TV programme by Metin Bobaroğlu and Ayşe Acar on Anatolia, the crossroad where the teachings of Ancient Wisdom come together.
Ashura focuses on the Anatolian tradition of sohbet, which is an alive and revivifying form of conversation. The symbolic aspects of all beliefs and cultures, ranging from the Ancient Greek tradition to Islam, are encompassed within the programme, with the guidance of poetical revelations from the Alawi-Bektashi tradition.
In these excerpts, you will find the core parts of these sohbets by Metin Bobaroğlu, who says that “in the Anatolian meaning of sohbet, there is a sense of sharing tastes, and this is what we refer to as ashura”:
